Fun Turkey Table Touches

Only a couple of days left until Thanksgiving! I want to share a post from last year that you may have missed… and it’s perfect for this week!

What’s cuter than a Scallop Punch with googlie eyes? Why, a Scallop Punch Turkey with googlie eyes, of course!
These little turkeys were shared by Liz Orr at one of our Lovenstampful Stamp & Share events.

Want to make your own? Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Cardstock: Close to Cocoa or Chocolate Chip, Ruby Red, Pumpkin Pie, Summer Sun, Green Galore, Not Quite Navy & Really Rust
  • Punches: Scallop Circle, 3/4″ Circle Punch, Large Oval, *Boho Blossoms Punch (just a little bit different from the punch in the photo)
  • Other: Stampin’ Dimensionals, Peppermint Patties & googlie eyes, of course!

These are so simple–just punch the pieces shown in the photo and sandwich a Peppermint Patty between the front and the back Scallop Punch pieces as shown. The head is attached with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

Have fun with these! Can’t wait to make them for my own Thanksgiving table!

Don’t forget to check out the Online Extravaganza this week! Shop in my Online Store and click “Online Extravaganza” on the left side to browse the sale. Items and bundles are 30%-50% off!!

Give Thanks for the Pennant Bigz Big Shot Die

Have I mentioned how much fun I’m having with the Pennant Big Shot die? I LOVE this thing! My first banner was a gift for the mom-to-be at a Stampin’ Up! baby shower, so I just had to make another banner to have in my own home. With Thanksgiving celebrations this week (we’re hosting dinner for 23!) I figured the occasion would be perfect for a new banner.

The colors for my banner are Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Tangerine Tango and So Saffron. The orange pennants are done with the Tangerine Tango Patterns Designer Series Paper (112153, $9.95) and the chipboard letters are covered with one of the papers from the Washington Apple Designer Series Paper (112461, $9.95).
The letters are cut using the Serif Essentials Big Shot die set (113464, I asked for this as an early Christmas present and I love it already!!) and the Scallop Circles and the Pennants (big and small) are all from the Pennant Bigz XL Die (113483, $39.95). I can definitely see myself using this banner all the time. The scallop danglies are easy to make–just fold 3 of the scallop circles in half and glue them together with the ribbon in the middle. And of course the crystal bead from the Pretties Kit (109114, $29.95) adds the perfect amount of ‘bling’.
To create the letters, I started with a sheet of thin cardboard and used Tombow Multiadhesive (110775, $3.95; I love that stuff!) to adhere a piece of the Washington Apple DSP. I let the glue dry and then ran the glued paper/cardboard through my Big Shot.
For the banner, I decided not to fold the pennant pieces flat. I love the dimension created by the folds in the centers. I actually folded the top edges over and added the Brass Jumbo Eyelets (108431, $9.95) and the Striped Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon (111849, $8.95) so that the pennants retain the dimension. On the Old Olive pennants, I stamped in Old Olive ink using the Baroque Motifs stamp set (109403, $25.95). What a great stamp set–it matches everything!
