Are You Forgetting an Important Part of Stamping?
When was the last time you put a hand-stamped card in the mail to someone? Picture your friend, trudging out to her mailbox in 100+ degree weather, opening the mailbox door and pulling out a stack of mail. She flips through the pile, finding mostly flyers, bills, and wait, what’s this?? A sweet Whisper White envelope — “High quality!,” she thinks to herself. And what’s that on the corner? Could it be… a hand-stamped little picture? “What a great day for mail,” she’s thinking now with a smile to herself.
Isn’t it a great feeling to pass that friendly smile along? When you have your stamps out to craft a card, remember to pick up the envelope you’re going to use and add a quick decoration to the outside. Let your friends and family know right there at the mailbox that there’s something fun in their mail that day. Don’t forget to stamp your envelopes!
Oh, and by the way, if you’re looking for a quick card, be sure to check this one out. It’s one of the 4 Stamps in the Mail Club projects that can be delivered to YOUR mailbox in August, complete with stamps and inks, when you sign up for my Stamps in the Mail Club (click here to learn more or sign up).
Happy Stamping!

Convention 2011: More Ideas & Samples
I was planning to show you the project we’re going to make tomorrow night at my New Catalog Idea Blitz Party (let me know if you can join us!), but I realized I wasn’t quite finished showing my favorite projects from Convention yet! So hang in there, and I’ll bring you the Showcase Party projects tomorrow.
Here’s a cute medallion, made into a birthday card, using the new Up, Up & Away stamp set (see it online).
For more directions on Medallions like this, check my blog post from this month. Oh, and I meant to show you the updated Scallop Circle Medallion that we made at Stamp Club in July. I added the Pennant Builder Punch and Pennant Parade stamp set (appearing in my Stamps in the Mail Club kits in August!).

Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head: Triple Layer Punch Idea
Today I’m headed home from the Stampin’ Up! Alaskan Cruise. Don’t worry, I didn’t spend my vacation blogging
I set up my posts ahead of time, so this was actually written well before I left for the trip with my family.
But raindrops seem appropriate, since we have rain predicted for pretty much every day of our trip. Not to worry again though–we’re prepared with our rain coats!
In any case, today’s card seemed appropriate to celebrate the rain in Alaska.
Today’s card uses the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch to create the little rain drops above the flowers. Be sure to check out some of my other Blossom Bouquet Tour projects.
This project is also one of the projects in the 2nd month of my Stamps in the Mail Club (click to learn more). This Club runs for 3 months (May, June & July) and you can still sign up for the 1st kit. Just use the link on my SITM page to fill out the form and sign up.
Finally, does earning a FREE CRUISE sound great to you? The good news is that each year as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator we have a chance to earn a free all-expenses Grand Vacation for 2. Last year was an 8 day cruise to the Southern Caribbean. This year is Alaska. Next year is Disneyworld. And the next year…? we’ll find out soon!
If you’re considering the opportunity to share what you love (stamping!), then this is a great time to join the Stampin’ Up! family. The Starter Kit with My Digital Studio is 30% off until May 31st, which makes the kit $122.50 instead of the normal $175. Even at $175 it’s a great deal–the kit has over $320 in Stampin’ Up! product. Plus there are great benefits — the cruise vacation is just one possible perk (check them out).
Talk to your demonstrator about signing up, or if you don’t have a demonstrator, I’d be happy to talk with you. The Starter Kit special ends on May 31st, so drop me an email or read more on my website or if you’re ready, you can sign up online right now!

Spring Cleaning: Have you washed your windows yet?
And if you haven’t washed your windows, turn right back around and pull out your stamping supplies. Those windows will wait! Instead, try the Stampin’ Up! Beveled Windowpanes (see them online)!
These little babies come smudge-free and you don’t have to wash them at all. Here’s a project showcasing the windowpanes along with the You’re A Gem stamp set (see it online), both in the Occasions Mini Catalog (ends April 30th!).
This card was also one of the projects in my last round of the Stamps in the Mail Club. While you can’t sign up for this project any longer, you CAN sign up for the next round of projects! (learn more about Stamps in the Mail Club)

Spring Is Here: Build a blossom with petals to celebrate
I’m looking at the thermometer and we’re at 57 degrees today! Wahoo!! Really, this is pretty exciting after the winter snows. I realize that it may not last, but for the moment, I’m stamping for Spring.
Here is a bouquet of ideas for the Build A Blossom stamp set (see it online) and the coordinating Blossom Petals Punch (see it online):
If you’re already signed up for my Stamps in the Mail Club, then you’ll be getting supplies and exclusive Video Tutorials for these projects in March! And if you haven’t signed up for Club yet, you can still jump in. You can check the details online and then send me an email so we can get you started!
Did you see the Blossom Bouquet in the back? That’s one of my favorite projects for this month. I used the Petal Cone Die (see it online) to create the vase for the flowers. Be sure to check out more of my recent Petal Cone Die projects.
Don’t you love how the Build A Blossom stamp set and punch also coordinate with the Fun Flowers Bigz Die (see it online) for the Big Shot (see it online)? It’s too much fun to mix and match these blooms.

Quick & Easy Thank You: Brighten someone’s day!
Last week I received an envelope from one of my Stamps in the Mail Club members. When I opened it I found her check (thanks Margo) but the extra little note she included put a HUGE smile on my face!
Here is Margo’s notecard, and she tells me that her idea came from Genevieve Caissiee. The finished size is about the same as a business card (around 2-1/2″ x 3-1/2″):
If I was so excited to find this little enclosure in the envelope, just think how much you could brighten the day of the person who opens your electric company bill, the preschool permission slip or your Demonstrator Starter Kit paperwork!
And if you’d like to learn more about my Stamps in the Mail Club, it’s not too late to sign up for the February kit (even though it’s March now).
I had to create my own notecard, based on the one Margo sent to me. I used the 2-Step Bird Punch (see it online) as well as a bird idea that I borrowed from Cecile Ortiz. She made the bird 2-toned, by punching it twice then cutting away the bottom part of the darker punch piece. Isn’t that cool?!
So what do you think? Do you ever include a little note with your bills or registrations in the mail?

Here’s what past Stamps in the Mail Club members have said about the Club:
Here’s what Debbie K, an 11-round Stamps in the Mail Club subscriber had to say: “I really enjoy the Stamps in the Mail Club because everything you need for a project or card is right there–everything is pre-cut. The directions are clear and easy, and then you have the directions that you can use on future projects. I love it.”
And Dawn H, another Stamps in the Mail Club veteran shared this thought: “Stamps in the mail club is an awesome way to get creative ideas. A fabulous way to build up your supplies at little cost. Stamps in the mail is like taking a class, only you don’t have to leave the comforts of your home. Everything is delivered to your door. I highly recommend Stamps in the mail! Besides the demonstrator is awesome!”
You can sign up now! If you’re registered and paid before February 15th, your kit will ship on February 16th and you can begin working as soon as your stamps arrive!
