Build A Cupcake: Punch Art Gift Tags

A few weeks ago I shared this fun little Take-Out Box gift with the Create A Cupcake stamp set tag.  The box itself is built from the Petal Cone Die for Big Shot (check out some other Petal Cone Die ideas).

The Create A Cupcake stamp set (see it online) and the matching Build A Cupcake Punch (see it online) are two of my fav items from the Mini Catalog.  This tag and take-out box (via the Petal Cone Diesee it online) are projects from my recent Stampin’ Up! Workshops.

Here I wanted to share 2 Video Tutorials for this fun project.

Tutorial 1: Create A Cupcake Gift Tag — learn how to make the most of your ink pads with the Stampin’ Off technique, plus tips for Punch Art with the Build A Cupcake Punch.

Tutorial 2: Petal Cone Die Take-Out Box — another fabulous idea for this flexible die for Big Shot.  Learn how to score and fold to create a sweet treat container.

Recently I shared a project that I’ve been demonstrating at Home Parties, using the Watercolor Wonder Crayons.  I was surprised that more stampers hadn’t seen this watercoloring tool already!  The WWC are definitely a favorite of mine.

New Scallop Square Extended Totes

I think many of us have seen the sweet Scallop Square bags that can be created with the Big Shot Die Cut Machine and the Scallop Square Die from Stampin’ Up! (check out my bag from a year ago).

But this winter I decided that I needed a small tote that’s a little wider than the regular Scallop Square size.  No problem!  I’ve come up with a solution and created a Video Tutorial to show you how to make these bags on your own.

Here are 2 Video Tutorials for the Extended Scallop Square Tote.  Part 1 includes directions on cutting your fabric with the Big Shot Die Cut Machine.  Part 2 shows the sewing instructions for assembling your bag.  Watch for Part 3, coming tomorrow, for directions on creating the Eyelet Flower Embellishment.

Yes, be very afraid, I have created a tutorial on sewing.  **Disclaimer: I am NOT a seamstress, I just play one on tv** :)

And here is Part 2 of the Video Tutorial:

The finished tote comfortably fits a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2″ card, so this is the perfect tote for carrying a few swap cards at a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Event, or for making a really special set of cards for a gift.

Stampin’ Up! Supply List: (order 24-7 through my Online Store)

  • Big Shot Die Cut Machine (includes regular Cutting Mats) (113439)
  • Scallop Square Die (115950)
  • Sweet Stitches Designer Fabric (121818)
  • Early Espresso Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon (115615)

As I’m posting this today, I’m also working on finishing 10 of these Extended Square Totes for the demonstrators on my LovenStampfuls Team who are headed to the Stampin’ Up! Leadership Conference in Nashville this week.  Here’s hoping there’s not too much snow for those Southern gals!

Take A Spin: Cards for Guys and Kids

Really, no need to limit these to just guys or just kids, but I know those two groups are sometimes a challenge when stamping cards.

The new Take a Spin (see it online) stamp set from the new Occasions Mini Catalog (download a copy now) is a perfect solution!

I actually used several of the new goodies from the Occasions Mini Catalog for this project:

  • Game Spinner Hands (121893)
  • Framed Tulips Embossing Folder (121809)
  • Sweet Buttons Sizzlit (121813)

Always fun to play with new toys, right?!

And if you’d like to see the spinner card in action, check this out!

Bling for Backpacks: Designer Jewels Black Flourish

(I’m off to St. George, Utah today for the Stampin’ Up! Founder’s Circle Trip! Watch for more posts this week and don’t miss yesterday’s Swap Card Saga!)

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming…

I don’t know about your kids, but around here it’s really popular to have a collection of keychains hanging from the back of your school backpack.

Sometimes I think the blob of keychains weighs more than the books inside the backpack.

But what’s one more tag, right? This one with the Designer Jewels Black Flourish is going to be a favorite for my daughter. Here are the reasons:

  • it’s a tag
  • it’s got BLING factor
  • it’s themed for Halloween

I’ve created a Video Tutorial for this project.  Using the Flourish Jewels is fairly simple, but sometimes it helps to just see something in action when it’s new.  You’re going to love these Jewels and all the possibilities!

Candy Wrapper Tricks for Treats: Big Shot Halloween

Have you seen this cute box yet? I love the new Candy Wrapper Big Shot Die from the Holiday Mini Catalog!

Here is a fun version where I came up with a special trick to add the Spider Web Textured Impressions Folder to the box.  **Hint** Use your Decorative Strip Spacer Platform!

These little boxes are a snap to make at home, but it definitely helps to have some tips.  I don’t know about you, but I’m a visual learner, so the Video Tutorials really help me catch the details. (see some of my past Video Tutorials)

**If you’d like to try some of these Candy Wrapper Boxes but don’t have a Big Shot, you’ll want to sign up for my Stamps in the Mail Club.**  One of the September projects is a set of 3 of these cute little boxes, and you’ll receive all the supplies pre-diecut to make the boxes at home.

Tricks for Candy Wrapper Treats: Part I

This video includes the basic box assembly instructions and tips for making them twist and close easily.

Tricks for Candy Wrapper Treats: Part II

Here’s where the Spider Web Embossing Folder makes an appearance, along with details on making the folder work without obscuring the score lines from the Candy Wrapper Box.
